KAITLIN www.kaitlinshiver.com
Kaitlin is an Elite triathlete competing in both ITU and non draft professional triathlons during the upcoming 2011 season and a senior exercise physiology student at the University of Florida. Her endurance sports career started at the age 8 when she began swimming for a club team in Melbourne, Florida. She began running during middle school only during the short track season as an excuse to run with her mom, Kathleen Shiver, a few mornings a week. She attended Satellite High School where she was a member of multiple state championship teams in swimming and cross country as well as winning a state title in the 1600. Also during her senior year she achieved All-American status after her third place finish in the mile at the National Scholastic Indoor Championship in New York. Shiver then attended the University of Florida on a Cross Country/ Track scholarship. In 2009, while still running at UF she earned her Elite license in triathlon by winning the USAT Age Group National Championship. Since then Shiver has attended the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for a two-week camp and traveled around the world to race on the ITU circuit. Her goal is to compete on the USA National Triathlon Team and earn USAT funding through their Project 2016 Team. She is eager to share her knowledge with fitness and triathlon enthusiasts!
